Implant placement A titanium-based implant is placed in the jawbone in relationship to the future restoration. The implant is allowed to heal within the bone for 3-6 months without any load on it. Typically, an interim restoration is worn by the patient during the healing time.
Prosthetics Phase This final step involves the fabrication of the artificial crown that is securely anchored to the underlying implant. The overall success of the entire implant depends on the anatomic situation of each individual patient, the expertise of the dentist, the communication between them, and the expertise of the dental laboratory.
